Spring Ohigan is the observance held during the spring equinox, the time when the days and nights are equal in length and when the days are neither too cold nor too hot. Ohigan is also referred to as the San Butsu E or “Gathering to Praise the Buddha”. It expresses that the Buddha guide people from this worldly shore to the other shore of the Pure Land.
This Shotsuki Hoyo portion of the service will provide an opportunity to offer Oshoko (the burning of incense) to remember our family, loved ones and friends that have passed during the months of February and March.
This service will be conducted by Reverend Majima. She is the new Reverend for Central California. Please come to meet and welcome her to the Valley.
