December 17 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Come join us for Mochi-tsuki or pounding of rice to make mochi rice cakes. These cakes are believed by some to hold the mythical power of strength and gaining good fortune for those that consumed it. Motchi-tsuki is a traditional event usually held in December by families, communities and organizations to make mochi for the upcoming New Year’s celebration for Japanese. Even though it is a very popular food item at this time of year, it can also be eaten throughout the year either by itself or as a confectionery.

Save the date if you would like to join us to find out how it is done. Final details of the event will be posted on the website when they are finalized
